Certification and Licensure
After completing your education and supervised practice, the final step is passing the RD exam and obtaining state licensure.
Step 1: Pass the Registered Dietitian (RD) Exam
- A nationally recognized certification exam assessing nutrition knowledge, clinical applications, and food service management.
- Required for RD/RDN credentials.
Step 2: Obtain Licensure from LBEDN
- Louisiana requires all Registered Dietitians to be licensed through the Louisiana Board of Examiners in Dietetics and Nutrition (LBEDN).
- Licensure ensures compliance with state regulations and protects public health and safety.
